NOTICE OF LINEAGE Sacred Monastic Order, Church of Hope, International gives public notice that its healing arts are practised within the lineage of monastic medicine — the infirmary traditions of the Benedictine houses, the medical writings of Hildegard von Bingen, and the work of Paracelsus — and that the Order holds this lineage to be the historical root from which the natural healing arts later developed. The Order practises these arts as sacrament, within a recognised religious order, for its consenting members, under the protection accorded to religious practice. This notice records the Order's understanding of its own lineage and is a statement of religious doctrine. It does not constitute a claim of medical licensure.
